Product liability and warranty law

The fact that producers, especially in the automotive industry, tend to assign more and more modules and sub-systems to specialized suppliers has opened new opportunities to automotive suppliers, but has also brought significant risks. Even for large suppliers it becomes necessary to assign sub-contracts to smaller specialized suppliers in order to satisfy the demand of the industry for increasingly complex systems and modules.

This development has been accompanied by sophisticated systems of contracts that govern the cooperation of suppliers and attribute considerable warranty and liability risks to the sub-supplier.

Based on our longstanding experience as legal advisors to first and second tier suppliers we can guide you in negotiations with suppliers and OEMs. We give advice in negotiations of serial delivery contracts, warranty agreements as well as in cases of (serial) damages or product liability.
